D-41 is a colorless fuming transparent liquid with a strong irritant odor, which is soluble in acetone, ether and acetic acid.

Reactivity

◆ D-41 reacts violently with water and alcohol, and will decompose into hydrogen chloride.

◆ The α-H of D-41 is active, which can occur halogenation and produce halogenated acetyl chloride.

◆ D-41 can occur aminolysis reaction with amino to produce the corresponding amide and hydrochloric acid.

Application

◆ D-41 is an important acetylizing reagent, the ability of acetylation is stronger than acetic anhydride, which is widely applied in organic synthesis, dyestuff and medicine industry.

◆ D-41 can be used as an analytical reagent, and also applied in the production of acetyl derivatives and dyestuff.

◆ D-41 is an acetylizing agent, which can be used as the raw material of pesticide and medicine, and also as an intermediate for producing water treatment agent, ethylene diphosphate, and as a complexing agent for producing new electroplating.

◆ D-41 is a catalyst for chlorination of carboxylic acid, and also can be used for the quantitative anlysis of amino and hydroxyl.

◆ D-41 can be used to determinate moisture in cholesterol and organic liquid, and also hydroxyl tetraethyl lead, to identify nitroso.
